- Native American Fact – Did you know the Apache were incredible endurance runners? From a young age, they trained to run long distances, often covering 50–75 miles a day across the deserts and mountains of the Southwest. They typically wore only thin leather moccasins and carried items for protection while running. This remarkable stamina and skill helped them survive and thrive in terrain that few settlers could navigate.
