- Students from PHS’s Media Club are going to STATE. Media Club is affiliated with TSA - Technology Student Association, a National Technology Association for student competitions. Tres Clements, Angelina Brambila, Kit Haynes, Hallie Day, Carson Morrison, and Ronin Goose have been selected to represent PHS with their short film, “A Mother and her Son’s” in the Video Productions Challenge, and the Video on Demand competition at the State conference in April in Spokane WA. We wish them well.
- Your Peninsula Seahawks had an amazing Winter Break. The team took 2nd place at the State Championship Mat Classic this past weekend, crowning 3 individual State Champions. Mira Sonnen captured her 2nd State Championship becoming the 3rd 2x Champ in school history. Bailey Parker also becomes a 2x State Champion, and Lindsey Shipp wins in dramatic fashion with a late pin to secure her title. Georgina Johnson finished 2nd, Mya Robles 7th, Justus Johnson 7th and Lily Robles 8th. We are Peninsula Proud of our ladies! Nehemiah Grandorff placed 6th at 144 lbs capping off a stellar junior season. Nemo is a 2x State placer, and had an amazing tournament and season. David Howard, Cash Cano, Yashua Fonoti, Mathis Crepin and Bryce Tillman all had big wins at the state tournament as well. Great Job Seahawks!
- All students in the EL program will be taking the WIDA test on February 27th and February 28th, 4th-6th periods in the library. Students, please be sure to arrive on time with your charged chromebooks. Teachers, please be sure to remind the students on your list.
- Are you ready to Glow Crazy?! Spring Fling is coming up soon and it is on track to be the best in the history of PHS! It’s on Saturday, March 8th from 7 - 10pm and will feature DJ Dubre! Tickets are $8 with ASB and $10 without and are on sale NOW! This is the event of the year - do NOT miss it!
