Congrats to Our Band Members

BIG CONGRATS to our fabulous PHS Band students for not only being great hosts for the Commencement Bay Music Educators Solo/Ensemble Festival but for their HUGE success in a WIAA qualifier event to send students onto the State contest in late April at Central Washington University.
We had 40 entries of solos and ensembles for Peninsula High School on Saturday which was over double any other high school in our area. These entries are largely student led and rehearsed. They pick their music and ensembles and work both outside of school and during our Chamber Music unit in class to put together their solo and small ensemble performance.
The following students and groups will represent the Commencement Bay region and PHS at the State Solo/Ensemble Competition at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA in late April:

I absolutely could not be more proud of all of the band students for representing our school with such pride, playing with a high level of musicality and professionalism, hosting an impressively well run and organized festival, and setting the gold standard in instrumental music for our region.
