Rickey
H. Badua, recently completed a Master of Music in Music Education
degree at the University of Puget Sound, where he has led the
University Wind Ensemble, University Band, New Music Ensemble and
Brass Ensemble. He was formerly the assistant conductor to the
University Symphony Orchestra, Tacoma Youth Symphony and Puget Sound
Youth Wind Ensemble. Mr. Badua also received his Bachelor of Music
Education degree from the University of Puget Sound and has served
as a guest conductor and marching clinician, including engagements
with Stadium High School, Kamehameha Schools and Cupertino High
School.
Mr. Badua also completed a recent teaching practicum with the
Peninsula High School Band during the 2005-2006 school year, where
he assisted Noel Abrahamson, former band director, with performances
and spring trip to Hawaii.
He is excited to be at PHS for his first year and is committed to
raising the standard of excellence in hopes of building a
comprehensive band program including a marching band, two concert
bands, two jazz ensembles and a Drumline/Dance team class.
