CONTENT: |
This is a beginning college-level course taught to meet the requirements for taking the College Board Examination in the spring. Course is designed to provide a stimulating introduction to college level chemistry; to provide a systematic approach to the study of matter, developing from the structure of the atom to include applications in everyday life; to learn facts, formulas and principles and develop a good understanding of the underlying principles of the fundamental laws of Chemistry; to extend to students’ knowledge of practical techniques and their ability to work safely and efficiently in the laboratory. This will include use of computer probes and analysis of the data collected. The primary system for delivery of information will be lecture. Students will be expected to put in extra study time and will be responsible for independently learning many topics. |
