  • Register and take PSAT (this is good for options).
  • Make appointment with your counselor to discuss next semester scheduled courses.
  • Review and update your portfolio.
  • Register for November ASVAB in Career Center for November test date.
  • Attend High School College Fairs. Visit www.washingtoncouncil.org for dates and locations.

  • Visit Career Center to check out CX Bridges website.
  • Visit a community college website for general apprenticeship information.
  • Visit a military website.
  • Take ASVAB.
 
December
 
  • Start creating your academic resume.
  • Talk to current Freshman students.
  • Update your portfolio.
 
January
 
  • Set up a file for each school you are considering.
 
February
 
  • Make appointment with your counselor to discuss next semesters scheduled courses.
 
March
 
  • Take the ASSET or COMPASS Placement test for Running Start (if in the plans for senior year).
  • Meet with West Sound Skill Center (if in the plans for senior year).
  • Register for SAT's May or June test date (just in case you change your mind).
  • Update your portfolio.
  • Start making arrangements for summer jobs (the Career Center can be of great assistance).

  • Update portfolio with community involvement.
  • Spring break is a great time to visit college campuses.
  • Register for May ASVAB in Career Center.
 
May
 
  • Make appointment with your counselor to discuss next years courses.
  • Take ASVAB if not taken yet.
  • Take Asset or Comps Test from local Community College.
 
June-August
 
  • Update your portfolio.
  • Review how to request a letter of recommendation.
  • Update reference list.
  • Secure summer employment.
  • Set up Federal Student Aid account (FAFSA) on their website www.fasfa.com.
  • Prepare for scholarship search.
  • Visit community/vocational/and/or specialty college interest.
  • Keep track of references information to enter in your portfolio in the Fall.
  • Start creating your personal resume.
